NARS Steven Klein Collaboration | Killer Heels Lipstick Coffret

It's officially November, so I feel that I am finally allowed to talk about Christmas and the upcoming Holiday Season! Every year NARS absolutely kills it with their Holiday collection, and this year is no exception. Enter: Steven Klein's Collaboration with NARS and the Killer Heels Lipstick Coffret. This coffret was created exclusively for the Steven Klein for NARS Collection and features 5 deluxe sample size (0.05oz) lipsticks in shades ranging from a soft nude, to a pure blood red - all perfect for the current and upcoming season.

The collection is limited edition, and exclusive to Sephora as it is part of the Fantascene Holiday 2015 Collection. It retails for $60, but is an $80 value (HERE)! The collection includes 5 lipsticks in the shades, Little Darling, Mayflower, Joyous Red, Jungle Red, and Fire Down Below. Little Darling is a very sheer beige nude that seems to be a common shade in NARS Holiday Collections. Mayflower is another sheer shade, but has a rosey tinge to it - like Mayflower, it is currently not listed among the NARS lipsticks on Sephora's website. Joyous Red is a very warm, orange-based red that is also on the sheer side. Jungle Red is a semi-matte bright red, while Fire Down Below is a semi-matte pure blood red - both of these shades can be purchased individually in the full size at Sephora.

NARS Lipsticks are quite the splurge, so I think mini lipsticks are the best way to try out a brand and formula in a variety of shades! After all, who really goes through a whole lipstick unless you LOVE the colour?

However, I feel that the NARS Audacious lipsticks have a much better formula. Although this would make a wonderful gift for someone, I think that some of the other lipstick Holiday sets that are available at Sephora are a much better deal and include products with a much better formula. I also think that for $60.00 I expected more pigmentation - you can check out swatches HERE. The lighter shades just weren't doing anything for me. The texture varied between the shades, and I just didn't LOVE them. I love NARS as a whole, but these lipsticks just weren't for me - they certainly are beautiful to look at though!
