The Ultimate Reese's Pieces Chocolate Cake

I love to celebrate birthdays, so it was no surprise to Collin that I went all out on his 23rd birthday last week and made him the Ultimate Reese's Pieces Chocolate Cake. Collin's favourite chocolates are Reese's so I decided to make him a chocolate cake, with peanut butter butter cream icing, that was piled high with Reese's Pieces. I unfortunately am allergic to peanut butter so I was unable to eat my creation, but Collin and his family assured me that it was delicious - His brother already put his order in for his birthday, aha. I am super happy with the way it turned out, and I thought I would share it with you all!

For the actual cake, I used my go to chocolate cake recipe from Add A Pinch, but you can use your favourite recipe if you have one. For the icing I kinda made it up as I went, and hoped it tasted good because I couldn't try it, aha! I used 1/2 cup of butter (room-temperature), a large cup of creamy peanut butter, 2 - 2.5 cups of icing super and a few tablespoons of 2% milk (add as much or as little as you need to make it a creamy consistency). I then beat all of the ingredients on high for 5 minutes, until it was light, fluffy and smooth. I then used a spatula to evenly spread it all over the cake, and used a Wilton 1M tip to pipe the star like pattern around the bottom. I cut up 15-20 Reese's pieces into quarters and "strategically" piled them on top of the cake. I finished it off by drizzling melted chocolate and peanut butter over the masterpiece!
