Homemade Macaroni & Cheese

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese is one of my all time favourite meals! I got this recipe from my very first skating coach, and my family has been making it for as long as I can remember. This recipe serves 6 people, and even though I'm only one person, I make the entire recipe, and freeze the rest in individual casserole dishes for quick dinners or lunches!


Ingredients:

3 cups - Macaroni Noodles
1/4 cup - Butter
1/4 cup - Flour
2 cups - Milk
1 tsp - Salt
1 tsp - Sugar
1/2 box - Velveeta Cheese
2/3 cup - Sour Cream
1 1/3 cup - Cottage Cheese
2 cups - Old Cheddar Cheese (Grated)
1 1/2 cups - Bread Crumbs (Optional)

Directions:
Cook and drain macaroni, place in a greased 9 x 13 pan (or any variety of casserole dishes).
In a large pot, melt butter, stir in flour and mix well. Add milk, and cook over medium heat until the sauce begins to thicken. Add salt, sugar, and the Velveeta cheese. Mix well. Mix in sour cream, and cottage cheese and pour over macaroni. 
Sprinkle cheddar cheese and bread crumbs over top. Dot with butter.
Bake at 350ºF for 45-50 Minutes & Enjoy!
