Estēe Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I have finally discovered my holy grail full coverage foundation! A few months ago I bit the bullet and splurged on Estēe Lauder's Double Wear Stay-In-Place foundation. I am happy to report that I have been consistently wearing it for the past 8 weeks, and have been thoroughly loving it!

I wear the shade 1W2 Sand, which is the perfect in between shade for me during the spring and summer months. The Double Wear line has an amazing range of shades with 30 shades to choose from, so you are almost guaranteed a perfect match!

The foundation is described as having a 15 hour staying power, that leaves you looking flawless all day. It also claims to be worry-free, long-wearing makeup that stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, and nonstop activity. It's also smudge proof, oil free, non-acnegenic and fragrance free. It is basically the perfect foundation for a girl on the go!

I have very oily skin, and this foundation does not need touching up - even after a 10 to 12 hour day. When I leave my apartment in the morning with Double Wear on my face, I can trust that my foundation is going to stay in place and look flawless all day long. It can be both a medium to full coverage foundation when applied in thin layers. I typically apply one layer, and build it up in areas where my redness still peeks through. The girl at the counter recommended for me to apply it with my hands or a brush, so I have been using Sigma's F84 (Angled Kabuki Brush) and F60 (Foundation Brush). I find that using my hands to apply foundation is just too messy, and both brushes work well. The foundation blends very easily into the skin, and looks very natural, despite being full coverage. It leaves your face with a semi-matte finnish, that looks very natural.

Since I have oily skin, I find that this foundation is perfect for balancing out my oils, but if you have dry skin I would recommend applying a heavier moisturizer before hand, so it doesn't cling to any dry patches, as it s not a very moisturizing foundation.

The foundation contains 1 oz, and is a packaged in a very heavy frosted glass bottle with a gold lid. One of the downsides to this foundation is that there is no pump. This problem is easily fixed with an additional $10.00, as MAC's foundation pump (HERE) fits the bottle perfectly! I chose not to put the pump on mine, as it makes it alot harder to travel with.

I highly recommend this foundation, as it has yet to let me down, and leaves my skin looking flawless. You can pick this beauty up for $44.00 at any Estēe Lauder counter or online (HERE). I guarantee you that it is totally worth every cent.
