Nail Of The Day: Shocking Pink Stripes

I love winter, but I have had enough - all of the super cold temperatures, slippery sidewalks, and snowbanks are starting to get to me. I am also getting bored of dark polish so I thought that since our clocks "Sprung Forward" an hour today (#DaylightSavingsProblems), that I would do some fun & bright spring nail art!

I created simple neon pink stripes on a white background, and I think it looks awesome (I may be a tad biased though, hehe!). For the base, I used Orly's Rubberized Bonder base coat (see my review HERE) and then painted my nails with two thin coats of OPI's Alpine Snow (HERE). I then used a striping brush to create the stripes. The neon pink is China Glaze's Shocking Pink (HERE). It is one of my all time favourite bright pinks, and I love wearing it throughout the summer! I then finished it off with a thin coat of my favourite top coat - Seche Vite!

Some people think that freehand stripes are hard to do, but all you need is a steady hand and you should be fine! I find it best to do the stripes in one quick motion, instead of super slow as they tend to look a little off if you take your time with it. If the stripe isn't opaque enough after the first swipe across your nail, you can easily do it again.

I am super happy with the way this turned out, and my nails will definitely be wearing this look throughout the spring and summer months. In case you were wondering my bow midi ring is from Forever21 (HERE)! I also tried out the new Maple Machiatto from Starbucks today and I have to say that it is delicious! If you recreate this nail design send me links so I can check them out!
