Tasty Valentine's Day Treats!

Valentine's Day is almost upon us, so I thought I would share three cute and delicious food ideas, so you could surprise a special someone or your friends with them tomorrow!

Food colouring is an amazing thing, aha. It can make even the simplest of recipes fun and exciting! For breakfast tomorrow why not start off your day with some bright pink homemade waffles? All I did was add 6-8 drops of red food colouring to my original waffle recipe (HERE)! They taste just as good as the original recipe, but they look so pretty on a plate!

Next, I made some pink cookies for my roomies! Again, all I did was add 10-12 drops of red food colouring to my Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe (HERE), and the result was these light pink cookies!

Lastly, I made Red Velvet Chocolate Swirl Brownie Bars! These are my favourite out of all these treats! This was my second attempt at these recipe, but I have yet to perfect the red colour.. as it is pretty difficult to make chocolate batter red! I came across the recipe online (HERE) - There is no doubt about it, they taste amazing, but I am baffled as to how she got the brownies to be so vibrant! The first time I tried the recipe I put 14ml (2 Viles, as directed) of red food colouring into the mixture, and they were a roan colour... The second time, I added close to 30ml of red food colouring, but they are only a slightly brighter roan colour! I recommend adding alot more food colouring if you are planning to try this recipe out, and hopefully you will achieve a more vibrant and red brownie!

Let me know if you try out any of these recipes! Happy Valentine's Day!
