Nail of The Day: Bahama Mama & Stripes

I woke up this morning to no hot water in my entire apartment building.. I then checked the weather and learned that it was -23°C outside and THEN I attempted to make it to the grocery store, but I missed the first bus... 25 minutes later another bus showed up and I made it to the grocery story only to spend way too much money on food. I think that this morning was a total write-off so I tried to make my day a little bit better by doing some fun nail art!

Over the weekend I picked up a multi colour pack of nail striping tape from Sally's Beauty (HERE) as I had seen some fun nail art tutorials that needed striping tape! To make this fun manicure I painted my nails with two coats of Essie's infamous fall/winter colour Bahama Mama! I then let my nails completely dry before laying the striping tape down. Striping tape is extremely thin and hard to work with.. you need a tonne of patience if you want your manicure to turn out! I found that using tweezers to place the tape worked best, and that the length of the strips of tape you cut doesn't matter because you can easily trim it with nail clippers once you have it on your nail. I then finished off the manicure with a thick coat of Seche Vite's top coat!

I think that this manicure is super fun and totally worth all of my efforts! What's your favourite manicure to create with striping tape?
