Ipsy Glam Bag - January 2014

This morning I received an e-mail with my Ipsy tracking number in it and lo and behold the fuchsia pink envelope was in my mailbox this afternoon! I can't even believe it... I feel like I just got my December bag a few weeks ago, but I am totallly not complaining! And since Ipsy excites me sooo much, please enjoy two blog posts from me in one day, aha!

If you are not sure what Ipsy is, it is a beauty subscription service. Each month you receive a mini makeup bag with deluxe samples, and full size beauty products!

Each bag costs $10.00 - which is an AMAZING deal. If you are interested in signing up, feel free to sign up through my referral LINK! (Thanks, xo!)

This month's theme was "19 Reasons" - The makeup bag this month is blue with different beauty products on it, and I personally think it's super cute!

The first item I received was a sample size (3ml) of Benefit's "The POREfessional". I have heard so much about this primer in the beauty community and I have never tried it before so I am excited to see what the hype is all about! The full size version (22ml) of this product retails for $30.00 (HERE) but you can currently purchase a deluxe sample size (7.5ml) for $8.00 (HERE)!

The second product that I received was a full size of Yaby's Natural Finnish Liquid Foundation in the shade "Buff". I put a little bit of this on my hand to see the colour and it's light enough for my pale skin, but I think the undertones may be a little too yellow for me. I'll give it a go anyways, and letchya know what I think!
This foundation retails for $14.00 (HERE).

Next, I received Absolute's Make-Up Cleansing Tissues with Cucumber Extract! I love trying out makeup wipes as they are a super easy and convenient way to remove makeup, especially while travelling! These retail for $7.00 for 60 wipes (HERE), so I imagine that this package of 10 wipes is only worth $2.00 at the absolute most (no pun intended, aha!).

I also received Balanced Guru's Body Balm! I have never even heard of this brand before but this product totally intrigues me. The texture of this balm is quite waxy and greasy, but it instantly sinks into your skin with no residue! This is the travel size version (1.0oz) and it retails for $12.00 (HERE).

Next, I received the Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm. Again, I had never even heard of this brand, but this clear lip balm smells delicious (like a mojito!) and is super hydrating (I put some on the second I opened my bag, aha). My lips are really suffering because of the dry and cold Canadian winter, so I was super happy to receive this!
This lip balm retails for $12.00 (HERE).

This month it seems that I received mostly skincare items (besides the foundation and primer), which is okay, but the products these past two months haven't totally blown me away.. I am thinking about retaking the Ipsy Match Quiz to see if that helps?

The total value of the bag that I received is more than $45.00 which is still a great deal, considering I only pay $16.00 after shipping.. (#CanadianProblems).

Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know what you think!

  1. I've always wanted to try the benefit primer too! let me know if you'd buy it for full price?
