Michael Todd Organics Skin Care Line - Full Review

The most popular post on my blog is my first impression on Michael Todd True Organics Skin Care Line! Back in May I purchased this line, and decided to give it a shot. Now after using most of the products regularly for a couple of months I am ready to give a full review! If you haven't seen my "First Impression" you can check it out HERE.

Since I have very oily skin, with occasional breakouts (they are mostly hormonal), I purchased the acne/oily skincare regime. When I ordered the line it included 5 products - Charcoal Detox Cleanser, Organic Lemon Toner, Jojoba Charcoal Scrub, Kaolin Clay Detoxifying Facial Mask, and a Antiox Serum.

For the past 3 months I have been doing my best to stick to a routine and to religiously use these products. I found that the best thing for me was to use this regime once a day, at night, before I go to sleep.

The Charcoal Detox is a "deep-pore cleanser that penetrates pores to draw out impurities." Most nights I work out, so I tend to use this cleanser in the shower. It's a super gentle cleanser, and I have been loving it - I almost need to order another one!  The packaging is really practical, as it has a pump. I just use a little and massage it into skin in little circular motions, it lathers up and it takes off all of my makeup (waterproof mascara included!).

If I'm not being lazy and my skin needs a little extra attention I use the scrub or the mask after the cleanser (never both). The Jojoba Charcoal Scrub is a "gentle exfoliating scrub" and I love how it makes my skin feel super fresh and clean. The exfoliating beads are super gentle and it feels amazing, my skin definitely loves it!

The Organic Lemon Toner didn't exactly impress me. The toner itself is pretty good, and it helps with oil control, but that is when you can actually use it.. there is a warning on the packaging that advises you to limit your sun exposure, as it can cause your skin to be sensitive and cause your skin to burn. For me, this is a huge problem, as it's summer time, and I am outside a whole lot. I was also not happy when I lugged these full sized products down to the Dominican only to find out that if I used the toner, I risked getting a sun burn on my face (I mentioned this because I read quite a few reviews online before I decided to buy the line, and not one other blog that I read mentioned it!). That aside, if you want to take the risk - it's a decent toner. I will probably use the toner more regularly in the upcoming Fall/Winter months, but in the mean time I have been using a prescription toner from my doctor that works really well to keep my acne at bay.

I really like the Kaolin Clay Mask, and I try to use it once or twice a week. Michael Todd says that the mask helps to "detoxify the skin, replace minerals and improve skin tone without dryness or irritation. Tightens pores and significantly improves smoothness. Also balances oiliness and aids in the elimination of blemishes." I wouldn't say that using it has made any drastic improvements to my skin, but it feels great, and super refreshing.

Lastly, the Antiox Serum is one of my favourites. It is probably the best serum that I have ever used. Gone are the days where I have to struggle to find a serum that is not going to make me look shiny and greasy. It is super light, absorbs into my skin in no time, and doesn't leave any sticky residue or film over my face. It has helped reduce some of my hyper pigmentation and acne scars. When I wake up in the morning I am left with a healthy looking glow - I can't say enough good things about this serum!

Back in my first impression post, I repeatedly said that I was not fond of the smell of the products. I can't really say that my opinion has changed, I'm still not a fan, but they are now familiar to me, so it's not too bad.

The website says that this is a 3-4 month supply. I have been using it for the past 4 months and I am really only running out of the cleanser.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I would highly recommend these products. If you are interested in trying out this line, you can check it out HERE! Or if your interested in looking at what other products Michael Todd has to offer, you can have a look on their website!

**NOTE: This is NOT a sponsored post. All products were purchased by me.
