Rest In Peace Sony Alpha 55

Four years ago, at the age of 15, I entered the world of photography and purchased my first DSLR, a Sony Alpha 200 to be exact. Sony wasn't my first choice, but I had found an amazing deal on a body, 15 - 75mm, and a 75 - 300mm lense. That camera was well loved and was passed down to my mom, when my parents purchased me a Sony Alpha 55, two years ago when I graduated from high school. I have the worst luck when it comes to technology, so it was no surprise to me when two weeks after I got my beloved new camera, my camera bag fell into the lake at my cottage and took my zoom lense with it... Luckily, I was able to get it replaced with a little white lie and I was back on my merry way.. Until this past weekend...

On Friday, June 28th, I was taking pictures of some flowers at my cottage, and mid photo my camera made a horrible grinding sound, and turned itself off. Since then I have been unable to revive it, and I have pronounced it totally dead... Here's the super crappy part.. My two year warranty ended on June 21.. Nine days before this disaster..

So now that I am camera-less, and quite disappointed, I am investigating the costs associated with getting it repaired, or perhaps a totally new camera.. I have had my heart set on the Canon EOS 60D for a really long time, but earlier this week, they announced the 70D, and it is totally out of my budget at this point, so my Canon dream camera will probably have to wait.

I have been in love with photography as long as I can remember and my love has only grown ever since I saved up all my pennys  to buy my first DSLR. So I am dying to have a camera that is in working order. I hope to sort this situation out as soon as possible and continue regular blogging, but until then, I thought I would share some of the last pictures that were ever taken on my Sony Alpha 55!

If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for cameras please let me know!
