Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Cream Foundation

Now that it's summer time, and I have just returned from the Dominican, I have a tan! I'm super excited, because I love to be tanned, but my face was looking a little ghostly compared to the rest of my body. I am huge fan of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Liquid Foundation, I think it might be my all time favourite foundation (tied with Make Up Forever's HD Invisible Cover Foundation)! I was totally out of any darker shades (regularly I'm one of the lightest shades at Chanel, 10 Beige), so I needed to head to the Chanel counter to pick some up. Before heading there I was reading online about the cream formula, most people were raving about it, but they warned people with oily skin against it, but I wanted to give it a try.

So this past weekend I picked up the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Cream Foundation in one shade darker, 20 Beige. It's a perfect match for my tanned skin, and if I do get darker, a little bronzer will help to keep my face from looking to ghostly!

Like all Chanel products, the product comes in a gorgeous compact in a velvet sleeve. It's very sleek, simple, has a large mirror, and comes with a round sponge. The product itself is in a separate container within the large clam shell compact. The lady at the counter told me that Chanel is coming out with refills in Fall 2013! The only downfall is that I've noticed that the lid on the actual product tends to pop open.. which can dry out the foundation.

The formulation is very thick and creamy, and it blends into the skin beautifully, leaving you with a dewy finish. I wouldn't advise using the sponge it came with, since sponges absorb a lot more product. The lady at the counter suggested a synthetic foundation brush, so I've been using a Sigma foundation brush and a Sigma buffing brush. Chanel says that this product is designed for dry to normal skin, and I can see why, because it is very hydrating! Since I do have oily skin, I powdered my face, and my skin looked flawless for 4 -5 hours without any touch ups. It has amazing coverage (I would say that it is medium coverage, but it is possible to sheer it out), but it definitely does not feel heavy on your skin. I've only worn it for 3 days, but so far I am loving it!

Although the price tag on this product is EXTREMELY high, $73.00 (Canadian, Including Tax), Chanel never fails to impress me!
